Aram Poladian

Artista visual nascido na cidade de São Paulo, Aram (1997) faz parte da terceira geração de armênios no Brasil. O primeiro contato com as artes foi através de animações, jogos, arte urbana e posteriormente na faculdade de design. Explora pintura, desenho e muralismo, onde incorpora elementos da “armenidade” à composições inventivas, misturando o real com o simbólico.

 

A partir da experiência da diáspora armênia e das vivências nessa comunidade, constrói obras que investigam os símbolos religiosos e políticos armênios em paralelo às referências do contexto urbano e ultra globalizado da metrópole onde vive e trabalha.

As cenas "imaginárias", abstrações das imagens tradicionais armênias, presentes nas tapeçarias, entalhes em pedra e arquitetura, criam uma atmosfera de ritual e comunhão deste povo, tanto na sua terra natal, quanto na nossa condição de diáspora.

Visual artist born in São Paulo, Aram (1997) is part of the third generation of Armenians in Brazil. The first contact with the arts was through animations, games, urban art, and later in college studying design. He explores painting, drawing, and mural art, where elements of “Armenianhood” are incorporated in inventive compositions, mixing reality with symbolism.

From the experiences in the Armenian diaspora and the life in this community, he creates pieces that investigate both religious and political symbols while simultaneously considering references from the urban context and the highly globalized metropolis where he lives and works.

The imaginary scenes, abstractions from Armenian traditional images, seen in tapestry, carved stone, and architecture, create a ritualistic atmosphere remounting the communion of this people, both in the motherland and in the condition of a diaspora.
